I so appreciate you writing about the Journalism That Matters gathering. I wish I could have also attended because I am insanely interested in the topics you were all discussing. I will savour the links above. A reflection on the idea of social reporting: in my experience, they key aspects seem to be conversation and collaboration. I would elevate these to being ethics. Social media and journalism, informed by these twin ethics, seem very powerful and positive to me. I've just spent six months taking the dialogue,deliberation,and public engagement certificate at Fielding Graduate University. I love technology and I love the media, but until we can really listen to one another and truly appreciate different points of view, I feel, the human race will not successfully make the transitions many of us feel are critical.
