Choco-Links
Updated February, 2006
If I can swing it, I may replace this page with a chocolate blog. Time is the controlling factor. Stay tuned. (A year later - I totally kid myself, but now I have two "Chocolate Lenses" on Squidoo. Chocolate and Chocolate Recipes.) If you have suggestions, send email to choconancy at gmail dot com.
- Nancy's Fudge Recipe
- Via the chocolate group on the The Well comes a recommendation for Lillie Belle Farms. I'm looking forward to trying some of these.
- Joe Fletcher of Sweetriot in New York city wrote me earlier this year to tell of their new shop in the city. I'm heading to New York this month and plan to go experiment. I had read about them earlier (and may have even blogged about it. Ah memory.) Their nibs product look very portable -- I'm thinking airplane food.
- An online colleague recommends Thomas Haas chocolates in N. Vancouver. When I was in that beautiful city last month, I called on a Sunday morning, just in case. Mr. Haas was delightful. The store is closed on Sunday's, but he said if I came by the back door I could buy some chocolate! Alas, that Sunday Mr. Haas was expected at a wedding. Next time!
- Wild Sweets,
Dominique and Cindy Duby exquisite online chocolate boutique has me drooling. How did I not know about them when I was last in Vancouver? Maybe that's because there is no address on their website. Web only? Sigh. Squash / Maple Syrup & Pumpkin Seeds truffles. Swoon!
- Want to read the writings of a true chocolate fanatic? Check out Clay Gordon's Chocophile.com site! mmmmmmm
- Organic chocolate? Check out Denman Island Chocolates in Canada, and Dagoba chocolates.
- Hank's Gourmet Chocolate Recipes - a page full of great looking chocolate recipes!
- After ignoring this page for waaay too long, I received a link request from Intemperantia, a chocolate company in Pacific Palisades, California. Intemperantia is "Latin for self-indulgence" according to the website. When you look at their offerings, don't miss the mouse-over feature. I'm ready to try some "pavers..." Mmm.... I'll report back after my first bite.
- I just discovered zChocolates, a French company that delivers to the US. I finally had a chance to try one of their truffles and it was delicious. I preferred the plainer varieties... but that's just me.
- Haven't tried them yet, but John & Kira's >Jubilee Chocolates were recently written up in the NY Times and boy, they sound GREAT!
- Last but not least, my favorite -- Frans Chocolates
... the best chocolate in the Seattle area... and the world? I particularly adore the chocolate ganache stuffed dried figs. Ambrosial. Coconut Gold Bar is also sublime.
- First two chapters from Joanne Harris' Chocolate: a Novel
- Click on "First Chapter" when you get to this page and then read on....
