My observations suggest that non-bloggers "get it" pretty quickly, since the editing interface looks and feels like the message boards they've used in the past. But experienced bloggers get confused when they realize that they're operating within a shared, communal space.
I've tried to tweak the new interface to make the blogging/community/feed-reading workflows a little more obvious to the uninitiated, but I'm sure there's still room for some head scratching.
