I am very upset over what I just saw on the news. United States Military MP's walking past our citizens in New Orleans at the Superdome to get to a Spanish Government official and her family that were there to take them to safety.. What message does that send to the U.S. Citizens there who have not eaten for some days and the American public watching on TV. What made that family more important by our Government than the our own citizens?

This is sickening. Why were thousands allowed to die before helping them? How can we get to Iraq to kill people faster than we can to save lives? I just got out of the military and I know for damn sure we could have gotten there in less than 2 days to help these people...I guess we only have that kind of expediency if we want to take them out. We weren't going into a hostile zone and a National Guard general already said that no one was shooting at those choppers. Were we just looking for another way to rid our country of 'undesirables'? I find it disturbing that poor people are goaded with criminals into a concentration camp and their fate just waited out. I guess it was just enough time to show America how savage and unimportant these people are by putting them in the worse conditions possible and analyzing it thoroughly...sad.

I've just finished donating to the British Red Cross Katrina Appeal so the American Red Cross gets the tax money I've paid on top of the donation, its an extra 30% so not to be sneezed at. My family, friends and colleagues here in Scotland are totally supportive of the American people at this time. Its a shame the US refused entry to our rescue workers as they have a lot of experience. I think everyone who is able and willing to help should be allowed to do so. Every man woman and child should do what they can. Its going to take a lot of effort by everyone to get this situation sorted out, so we need everyone working together. Bickering about who's to blame over this and that is not helpful at this time.
