I have been part of an informal, casual string of communications between a number of folks about multilingual online interactions. I have been following. I have been impressed. And I have been quietly holding onto bits of these discussions to use in a talk I'm about to have with my 16 year old daughter. About her future. Or about THE future.
She's sick of foreign language in school. She is not happy with the idea of taking a foreign language in college.
Somehow, she needs to see how important langauges are going to be to her future. These discussions, I hope, are going to help sway her - or at least help her to think more positively about languages...
