Thurston's Lobster Pound

Just past Southwest Harbor we went searching for Thurston's Lobster Pound, a place recommended to us. Down a small road that opened up to a lovely harbor view, we struck gold. You walk in and there is a tank. You point to the lobsters you want and they put them in a mesh sack (along with any other shellfish you order), and note the number on your sack on your order. Then they dump the bag in the lobster cooker (second picture) and set a timer. When they are ready they add on the sides, and then holler (literally) your name. At your table you wave your hand and the feast begins.

With full bellies, we appreciated the views as dusk settled in.
